Firefighters battled it out on Boxing Day in a popular annual festive event.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch The Geddington Squirt competition, which involves firefighters going head-to-head to see who can push a beer barrel over their opponents’ head using water hoses.
Crews from the Geddington Voluntary Fire Brigade (GVFB) and Kettering Fire and Rescue took part in the charitable tradition at the ford in Bridge Street, Geddington.
During the battle, water is pumped from the River Ise and sprayed at high pressure at the beer barrel, which is suspended in the air on a zip wire above the ford.
Crowds watching from the bridge over the ford cheered as GVFB swept to victory in a 5-0 win over the Kettering firefighters.
