Boughton House, near Kettering, wowed X-Factor contestants during last night’s episode.
The venue hosted the judges’ houses stage of the ITV1 talent show.
Gary Barlow was joined at the stately home by former judge Cheryl Cole, who made her come-back almost two years after her departure.
Filming took place at Boughton House over the weekend of September 8 and 9.
Saturday night’s episode showed the over 28s contestants singing for their survival in the grounds of the house.
The hopefuls were more than impressed by the Northamptonshire venue. They were shown around the building upon their arrival.
Christopher Maloney, from Liverpool, said: “I have never been anywhere like this before.”
After their mentor, Gary Barlow, was revealed it was time for the shock arrival of Cole, who arrived at the venue in a helicopter with Barlow.
She bowed out from the UK X-Factor after the 2010 series to take up a short-lived place on the panel for the US version of the show.
The Girls Aloud singer told the contestants she could sympathise because she has been in their position.
She said: “I’ve been there and I have been here so I know how you are all feeling, I am just excited to see what you have got.
“Think it’s going to be amazing and I wish you the best of luck from the bottom of my heart.”
Viewers will find out tonight (Sunday, September 30) who has made it through to the live shows when the judges reveal who they have chosen to take through.
They each choose three of their six acts, but X Factor fans will have a chance to vote for a wildcard act to put through to the live section of the show.
