'˜Bombers' kit out church in festive wool

St James' Church in Thrapston fell victim to a yarn bombing last week, carried out by a town group which yarn bombed the town's Peace Park earlier this year in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday.

The group spent five months knitting festive-themed yarn creations which reflect the birth of Jesus in time for Christmas.

A spokesman for the church said: “Our new Rector asked if they would decorate the Church.

“We are opening our Church every day Monday to Saturday from 10am to midday, until Christmas, to share their creations with people.

“The time and generosity of these ladies is amazing.”
