A woman from Wellingborough was discovered dead in the grounds of a Welsh golf course.

The body of Naomi Claire Shilton, 28, was found hanging in thick undergrowth at St. Deiniol golf club, Bangor, in April, by a woman exercising her dogs.

Police used DNA testing to identify the remains of those of Miss Shilton after matching the DNA to her mother. It is not known how long the body had been there.

A coroner at Llangefni, Anglesey, recorded a narrative conclusion that Miss Shilton, self-employed, of Rock Street, Wellingborough, killed herself. “The question ‘why’ isn’t a matter for any inquest,” said coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones.

Mr Pritchard Jones said Miss Shilton was suspended using a cord taken from her rucksack.

Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
