Kettering police are drafting in a Polish-speaking PCSO so they can better engage with the Eastern European population living in the All Saints area of Kettering.
PCSO Lukasz Wojcik has previously worked in Corby but is moving to Kettering on a temporary secondment later this month.
Sgt Julie Mead, from Kettering police, said: “The aim is for Lukasz to speak to some of the Polish residents living in the All Saints area to try and break down some of the cultural barriers.
“Some of the people who move to Kettering for work from Eastern Europe have a different experience of the police in their home country and we want to show them we are different.”
PCSO Wojcik will be attending community meetings during his time in Kettering and will also attend Sunday Mass. Sgt Mead said the police will also be setting up surgery sessions to give people an opportunity to meet him.
