A bid to raise awareness of what Corby has to offer to potential visitors is set for its official launch later this week.

LoveCorby, an initiative by the Corby Visitor Forum and Corby Council, will give a number of talks at 11am on Friday, September 4, at the Core Theatre.

Local businesses and people interested in promoting the town are invited to attend and view presentations from Corby Council on its visions and aims.

Spokesman for LoveCorby Andrew Norman, who is himself giving a talk, is excited by the project with the website already live.

He said: “The town centre has seen vast improvements recently and LoveCorby is a great way to show these off to anyone who wants to visit.

“The idea of it is that there is a one-stop site to go where everything that’s available is in one place.

“There will be a list of restaurants, shops, leisure activities, hotels and more, highlighting the real change that Corby and the surrounding countryside has seen.”

The project, which has two years of funding, has already seen 55 business sign up including Rockingham Castle and Corby swimming pool.

Norman added: “Corby has really changed with the addition of the cinema, theatre and pool, all of which are of a very high standard.

“The town has a good core and has emerged into a real place to be proud of.

“It now looks good and feels good and we need to make the most of that by bringing people in from across the region.”
