Beat stress at new sessions in Corby

People suffering from stress are invited to new relaxation sessions in Corby.

They start on Tuesday, September 10, at Kingswood Community Centre, from 1pm to 3pm, and people are asked to take a pen and a notebook and a yoga mat, if they have one, and wear loose clothing.

Tutor Paula Boulton, who designed the course for Tresham College more than 20 years ago, draws on her training as a musician, dancer and performer to help participants deal with nerves, become aware of avoiding physical tension and use the mind and breathing to achieve a state of relaxation

She said: “The performing arts is one of the most stressful fields to work in and I have found over the years that the things we were taught are easily transposed into other areas of life.

“We often get caught up in an unhealthy cycle of stress. Taking an hour a week to step back and consider what you can do to tackle stress and an hour learning how to release tension and relax pays dividends in the long run.”

Sessions cost £5 and £3.50 for concessions. For more information please telephone 07892489163.
