Superheroes are invited to help launch this year’s Corby Walking Festival and raise cash for the town’s Lakelands Hospice.

People are invited to dig out their Superman and Wonder Woman costumes and join the Sunset Superheroes Walk starting at Corby boating lake at 7pm on Friday, May 2.

The three-day festival organised by Corby Council, runs until Monday, May 5, and includes a packed programme of walks around the borough.

There is something for all ages and abilities, including themed walks for people interested in local history, photography and wildlife, as well as long distance hikes.

Lakelands Hospice community fundraiser Paul Marlow said: “We hope people will put on their masks and capes and join us for a walk around some of Corby’s beautiful woodlands.

“The walk will finish with food and a quiz at the Everard Arms pub and it costs just £3 to enter.”

The festival will finish with a family fun day and dog show at East Carlton Country Park, from midday until 4pm on Monday, May 5. It is also in aid of Lakelands Hospice.

Attractions will include archery, a bouncy castle, falconry display, dancing displays, stalls and refreshments.
