A new music festival to promote up-and-coming bands in the county and help young cancer patients has been launched.
Green Meadows Festival will take place on Saturday, September 8, on farmland at Barnwell, near Oundle, and will feature three stages and a children’s area with arts and crafts.
All profits will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Organiser Ollie Sharp said: “Teenagers with cancer often find they fall between two types of services, those for adults and those for children. We wanted to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust to help support those young people. A music festival also gives us the chance to have a good time doing it.”
On the main stage there will be an eclectic range of music from ska to indie.
Highlights will include Angry vs The Bear, who have just released their new single London Town, and The Fleeting Minds, who are being courted by Noel Gallagher’s Sour Mash record label and have an album out now, as well as a growing following.
The one-day festival will run from 11am. Tickets cost £10 or £5 for children aged three to 12. They are available from The Ship Inn or Trek Kits, both in Oundle, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
