Corby Council’s walking football group showed off their skills this week as they were joined by chief executive of Northants FA Kevin Shoemake and chairman of Corby Town FC Steve Noble for one last game before the Christmas holidays.
Walking Football sessions were launched in September and have proved to be very popular with about 20 attendees joining the fun.
The sessions are open to men and women of all ages and involve no running whatsoever.
Sessions take place on the 3G rubber crumb astro turf at West Glebe Park every Tuesday, from 11.30am to 12.30pm and cost just £2 per person.
Sessions will be back up and ‘walking’ from Tuesday, January 5, next year.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “We are very pleased to see that these new sessions have been a hit with people in Corby.
“The sessions are something different and offer an alternative to the normally fast-paced game, so can be enjoyed by everyone.
“We look forward to the sessions starting back up in January and hopefully seeing more people joining in.”
