PUPILS at Wrenn School in Wellingborough were expected to welcome Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler back to the classroom yesterday.

The 17-year-old from Wellingborough will be getting back to normality this week before her AS-level exams start on Friday.

Wrenn headteacher William Thallon said: “She’s got exams this week. It is going to be difficult for her, but we will try to make it as ordinary a week as possible for her.

“She was in school in the week between the semi-final and the final and if you had seen her around the school you wouldn’t have known she was the subject of any attention. All the way through she has displayed an extremely professional attitude. Our job now is to make sure that she can get on with her exams.

“The school is extremely proud of her. We had over 100 people in the hall to watch her perform on Saturday and we thought she was great.”

Ashleigh said: “I have got my first exam on Friday. I am just going to see how it goes.”

Asked if she would stay on at school, she said: “I haven’t really decided what to do yet.”
