Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler says she can’t wait to see her dog Pudsey’s big screen debut.
Ashleigh, 19, and her dog Pudsey leapt to fame in 2012 when the duo won Britain’s Got Talent.
Since then, the pair have made numerous television appearances and Pudsey starred in the television drama Mr Stink, broadcast at Christmas 2012.
And last year an announcement was made that Pudsey would star in his very own film.
Speaking to the Telegraph while opening a new café at Ashley Court Care Home in Kettering, Ashleigh, said she had not yet seen a final cut of the film, but was looking forward to doing so in the near future.
She added: “The film is due out in July so we’re really looking forward to that.
“All the filming is finished and I think David Walliams, who is going to be Pudsey’s voice, has pretty much finished doing his recording as well.
“Making the film was a really good experience.”
Ashleigh said she and Pudsey have some more “bits and pieces” planned for the near future but remained tight-lipped on what they might be – saying only that one may be a television project.
She added: “Everything is going really well.”
Ashleigh and Pudsey were accompanied on their trip to Ashley Court by Sullivan, a one-year old dog which Ashleigh has been training for a number of months.
Ashleigh said: “Pudsey is eight years old but Sullivan is like a baby compared to that.
“I’ve been taking him along to events and things like that to give him a bit more experience.
“He’s really friendly and he’s learning a lot.”
Pudsey: The Movie stars a number of familiar faces alongside Pudsey, including Olivia Colman, Jessica Hynes and John Sessions.
The film tells the story of Pudsey, a stray dog living in London in the film, who meets a new family and helps them foil an evil plan concocted by the film’s villain, played by John Sessions.
Britain’s Got Talent host Simon Cowell is credited as a producer.
