Youngsters showed of their artistic flair at a Christmas crafts session in Corby today (Saturday December 8).

The event was held at the Core Theatre, Corby, and a group of children got together to create festive decorations.

Craft sessions are held by the theatre before children’s shows and the youngster’s were preparing to watch The Night Before Christmas later this afternoon.

Louise Wildish, the Creative Associate for Education at the theatre, said that the activity is free and hopes that Core can become one of the places to go for a family day out.

She said:” We are trying to make the Core the place to go for a family day out. The activities are free and we open the bar for the parents, so people can have fun all around.

“If people go to the show after then it is a really day out for the entire family.”

Mrs Wildish added that the craft sessions taught depend on the show being performed.

The next set of activities will be held on February 15, and 16, 2013 before the Rumpelstiltskin show - where children will be taught how to make dream catchers.
