Police are appealing for witnesses to what they have described as a despicable string of thefts from memorials at Kettering Crematorium.
Three separate offences have been reported to police where items of high sentimental value have been stolen from the crematorium in Rothwell Road.
The thefts all took place between Thursday, 22 August and Sunday, 22 September. Items taken include an ornamental train, scooters and pots.
Sergeant Alex Kitney said: “These despicable crimes have caused significant distress to the families who left these items as tributes to their loved ones. The items have little monetary value but are of huge sentimental value to the families.
“I would urge members of the public visiting the crematorium to be vigilant and appeal for anyone who has any information regarding these terrible crimes to contact us as soon as possible.”
Witnesses to these incidents, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
