Police have released CCTV images of a man that they would like to speak with following the theft of clothing from a garden centre on the border of Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.

The incident took place at around 4pm on Friday, August 16 when the offender entered Podington Garden Centre in High Street, Podington.

He picked up a Victoria Tweed coat, rolled it up and placed it under his arm before walking out of the shop without making any attempt to pay for it.

The same offender is believed to have stolen two waterproof jackets and matching hats from the same store at 12.50pm on Sunday, July 21. On that occasion he entered the shop, selected one jacket which he wore, concealed a second underneath and also took two hats before leaving the shop without paying.

If you recognise the man in the images or have any information relating to these incidents, contact Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Service Team, in confidence, on the non-emergency 101 number quoting crime reference JH/30338/2013 for the theft in August or JH/25907/2013 for the theft in July.
