Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of an assault on a country road.

Officers were called to Arthingworth Road, Desborough, just before 5pm on Wednesday, July 22, to reports of an incident.

They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, which is believed to have involved two motorists.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called to treat one of the drivers, a man in his 40s.

He had suffered injuries to his face.

The air ambulance medics worked with members of the East Midlands Ambulance Service to assess the patient, who was then taken to Kettering General Hospital by land ambulance for treatment.

Witnesses to the incident are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555.
