Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Kettering last week.

A pedestrian stepped into the road on Barnwell Street between 4.55pm and 5.05pm on Monday, February 4, causing a white Peugeot van to swerve quickly.

But after the driver sounded his horn, the two became engaged in an argument, which resulted in the pedestrian opening the van door and punching the driver several times in the face.

The offender was then forcibly taken away from the victim by a group of men before walking down Mill Road.

Police want to speak to the offender, who is described as white, between 45 and 50 years old, of skinny build, with short grey hair, 5ft 10in tall and wearing a black leather jacket.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
