KMDS is an action group which has been launched for people living in Kiln and Minerva Way as well as Diana House and Sylvanus House on the Queensway estate.

Cllr Liz Coombe is one of the county councillors for the area and she is backing the new group, saying they really want the group to be proactive and make a difference for people living there.

Scott Fitzsimmons, who is chairman of the group and also runs the Queensway Residents Association, said: “At the start of January we ran a clean-up operation alongside Norse and Wellingborough Homes to tackle fly-tipping on Kiln and Minerva Way, which is a massive problem, and also carried out a litter pick patrol.

“Over two days we cleared nearly eight tonnes of rubbish.”

As well as running the two groups, Scott is also a member of the local Safer Stronger Neighbourhood Partnership (SSNP) and Queensway Partnership.

He is the lead for the empowering communities section on the SSNP.

But he would love to have more people getting involved with the new KMDS group in the hope of making a difference for everyone who lives there.

Scott said: “KMDS and Queensway Residents Association are looking for local residents to help out and try to make the estate a cleaner and better place to live.”
