An animal rescue charity is appealing for donations of cat litter and pet food as it prepares for the winter months ahead.

Animals In Need is a voluntary organisation which rescues sick, injured, trapped and distressed wild and domestic animals.

It provides veterinary treatment where necessary and cares for and rehabilitates animals until they can be released or re-homed, but it couldn’t do this without donations and support from the public.

As the winter months approach, the charity based in Little Irchester near Wellingborough is appealing for donations so it can stock up ahead of the cold and wet conditions.

Annie Marriott from Animals In Need said: “We need cat litter, rabbit food, hedgehog food (chicken in jelly dog food) as well as towels and blankets.

“We need help to try and stock up for winter.”

Anyone who would like to help can drop donations off at the charity at Pine Tree Farm in London Road, Little Irchester.

It is open to the public between midday and 3pm Tuesday to Sunday, but closed on Mondays.

For more information about the charity and how you can support it through donations and volunteering, go to www.animals-in-need.org or call 01933 278080.
