Police have warned Desborough residents not to distribute any details that could put people at risk after anonymous letters were circulated regarding alleged sexual offences.

The correspondence and speculation relates to a 24-year-old local man who is being investigated by Leicestershire Police.

Letters have been distributed to a number of residents on the Grange estate in the town.

The man in question has not been convicted of, or charged with, any offences.

Police would like to reassure residents they take the safety of the community seriously and that this matter is being looked at.
