Well, it happened – we got through it!
Thank you so much for all your support.

Considering the awful weather the turnout was amazing.

We think, by looking at the crowd in front of the stage and beyond, we had about 1,500 there which was just fantastic.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who turned out and for creating such a warm, friendly and such a determined atmosphere – everyone was smiling and so positive.

Special thanks too to the wonderful Crazy Hats team and extended team who worked so, so hard to make the event happen – they are all heroes.

Having Ashleigh and Pudsey come along really lifted the walker’s spirits – we are very grateful to them and to Ashleigh’s team.

Special thanks to all our sponsors, in particular to Avon who presented a further £10,000 to help support our complementary therapy service.

With the walk being our charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year we now ask that all walkers, whether they attended, or not, to please let us have their sponsorship money as soon as possible so that we can continue to support projects we have pledged to back and take the charity forward.

We look forward to seeing the winners of the many awards at Wicksteed Park mnnext Tuesday. Well done everyone – we’ll be back next year and the sun will shine for us.

Now to unload two lorries of soaked equipment...
