Members of Burton Latimer’s Royal British Legion branch are holding two events to commemorate 100 years since the outbreak of war.
There will be a display in the grounds of the Civic Centre in High Street, Burton Latimer, from 10am on Saturday explaining about the work of the Legion and how it helps support ex-service personnel.
Branch members will be there to answer questions and there will be a short service at 11am led by their padre, the Rev Safford.
They will also be holding a candlelit vigil in support of the national Lights Out initiative.
The vigil will take place from 10pm until 11pm on Monday at the war memorial. People across the country are being encouraged to turn off their lights at this time.
