Almost 2,000 more primary school places to be created

Plans to increase the size of 11 primary schools by an additional 1,855 places will be discussed by the county council.

It is proposed to increase the number of places for pupils aged four to 11 in permanent accommodation associated with the following schools:

Barton Seagrave Primary: from 420 places to 630

St Andrews Primary, Kettering: from 245 places to 315

Victoria Primary, Wellingborough: from 315 places to 420

Wollaston Primary: from 280 places to 315 places

Abington Vale Primary, Northampton: from 210 places to 420

Boothville Primary, Northampton: from 420 places to 630

Bridgewater Primary, Northampton: from 420 places to 630

Castle Primary, Northampton: from 420 places to 630

Delapre Primary, Northampton: from 420 places to 630

St Andrews Primary, Northampton: from 210 places to 420

Spring Lane Primary, Northampton: from 210 places to 420

Northamptonshire has a percentage rise in population above the national average with all districts / boroughs showing a rise in population and only one (Wellingborough) being below the national rate.

The cabinet meeting to discuss the expansion will be held on Tuesday, September 4.
