Motorists will be able to use all three lanes on the A14 near Kettering from this weekend following work on the major widening project between Junctions 7 and 9.

The eastbound and westbound carriageways will be open to traffic with all three lanes running and speed restrictions lifted by Friday, May 1.

We are very happy to confirm that all lanes will be open to traffic during the day

There will then be night-time closures from May 5 to May 8 to complete some further work.

Following this planned overnight resurfacing work will take place and this will be completed by mid-July.

The additional work involves resurfacing the existing lanes and slip roads which are in need of repair as the road surface has deteriorated earlier than expected.

The work will take place overnight to minimise disruption.

Highways England project manager Mary Chatfield said: “We are very happy to confirm that all lanes will be open to traffic during the day and just in time for the bank holiday weekend.

“This will relieve congestion and improve journey times.

“We will be working overnight to create as little disruption as possible.”
