An alcohol-free event for sixth form students in Kettering who get their exam results later this month is being supported by the police.
Northamptonshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner are working with the Eden Centre in Montagu Street to promote the event as part of the ongoing work to reduce alcohol related violence and disorder in the county’s town centres.
The event will take place from 8pm to midnight on Thursday, August 14, the day this year’s A-Level results are published.
Alcohol-free cocktails and drinks will be available throughout the evening and the event will be open to all sixth form students. Entry is free.
PCSO Donna Fenner from the Kettering safer community team said: “Through this event, we’re aiming to provide a safer environment where young people can meet and socialise.
“We’re promoting it across the town and hope students will come along and enjoy a night out with friends at a safe, fun, alcohol-free event.
“All sixth formers are welcome, not just A-Level students, and we’re hoping other clubs in the town will give out flyers to anyone they turn away because they’re too young and encourage them to go along to the Eden Centre instead.”
