Aircraft design explained to group

Members of a Rushden group learned about aircraft design at a recent meeting.

Rushden Hall Pensioners Parliament had a talk by Marylyn Wood, who worked at the Aircraft Research Association in Bedford for 31 years.

She told members about the problems faced by aircraft designers, both civilian and military, and the part played by computers and wind tunnels in their design and testing.

The group, which is for men who have reached retirement age, meets every Tuesday afternoon from September until April in Rushden Hall.
