People popped in for afternoon tea at Corby Labour Club and helped raise £300 for the Eve Appeal, a charity fighting women’s cancers.

The event, which included arts and craft stalls, was organised by Lynn Patel, Carol Davis and Maggie Woods of She Matters, the women’s support group which meets at the Stuart Road club.

Visitors enjoyed tea and coffee, sandwiches and homemade cakes.

Lynn said: “We had a very busy afternoon and we would like to thank everyone who support the event and made donations.”
