RESIDENTS of a housing association were given the chance to attend an event themed around money.
Rockingham Forest Housing Association invited its residents to go along and learn about welfare reforms over a slice of pizza at the event at Pizzeria Venezia in Rushden on March 31.
The theme of the day was money – whether people were getting what they are entitled to, if they were spending and saving it wisely and how to increase their income.
The housing association hosted stands on its services alongside representatives from Natwest, Asda, eVolve Your Future, Community Law and Neighbourhood Learning.
There was also advice about stopping loan sharks and a stall run by MCF Loans, which offers an alternative to doorstep lenders.
Rosemarie Anderson, chief executive of Rockingham Forest Housing Association, said: “It is important that we are proactive in helping prepare our residents for the government’s changes to the welfare system, while giving us the opportunity to meet lots of our residents in an informal setting.”
