Part of the A6 at Rushden, which was closed for several hours yesterday after a man “put himself in a place of danger”, has now re-opened.
The road was closed between the junctions with Newton Road and John Clark Way for several hours.
Police said earlier the closure was “due to an ongoing incident in which a man has put himself in a place of danger” and urged motorists to avoid the area.
The force confirmed just before 9pm on its Facebook page that the incident had been resolved and the road had reopened to traffic.
Posting on the page, OSCAR 1 wrote: “Police were managing an incident involving a vulnerable person with the road being closed for a few hours. The incident is now resolved and the road re-open.”
