A14 in Northamptonshire closed for over four hours after lorry fire.

The westbound carriageway of the A14 was closed for hours on Thursday, August 8, following a lorry fire.

The dual carriageway was closed in both directions following the incicdent between Junction 1 and 2 at Kelmarsh.

The eastbound carriageway reopened shortly after 4pm although large tailbacks remained in both directions.

A police spokesman said the driver of the articulated lorry which had caught fire had escaped from his vehicle without injury.
