Emergency services have been called to a major incident on the A14.

A collision involving a lorry, a van and a tanker believed to be carrying cryogenic freezing liquid happened just before 9am this morning (Tuesday, February 5) westbound near the Catthorpe interchange.

Liquid nitrogen has been reported to have been leaking on to the road.

The road has been closed in both directions by Leicestershire Police. A spokesman for the force said: “Officers were called at 8.40am to reports of an RTC involving three vehicles on the A14 Catthorpe interchange.

“Junction one westbound and junction one eastbound have been closed.

“All occupants are out of their vehicles and there are no reports of any injuries.”

The force has also advised motorists to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

Ambulances and crews from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue are also at the scene.
