Students at Kettering Buccleuch Academy were among those celebrating their A-level results this morning (Thursday, August 14).
Manlok Lee, 18, from Kettering, will be going to Durham University to study accounting and finance after scooping an A in It, Bs in maths and Chinese and a C in law.
He said: “I was trying to stay calm this morning but when I got about 100 yards from the school I started getting really nervous.
“I wanted to get into a top university and I’m very pleased that I have been able to.”
Lisa Eady, 18, from Kettering, got a B in psychology and Cs in English and drama.
She said: “A lot of people had checked the UCAS website this morning but I hadn’t so I was really nervous to be honest.
“I only slept for about four hours last night but I’ll be celebrating later.”
James Pearce, 18, from Kettering, received Bs in physics, product design and IT and will be going to Nottingham Trent University to study product design.
He said: “I was absolutely buzzing when I got the results. I can’t wait to start university now.”
Keely Raynor, 18, from Kettering, achieved an A* in psychology and Bs in English and health and social care.
She said: “I am going to Anglia Ruskin University, in Cambridge, to study English language and linguistics. “My results were a lot better than I was expecting.
“I was worried my grades were not going to be good enough – I’d already downloaded the clearing app – so I was really happy to get the grades I did.”
