Students and staff at Tresham College are celebrating an overall 98 per cent pass rate for A-Levels this year.
Out of 102 A2 Level entries across 14 different subjects the overall pass rate this year is 98 per cent with 72 per cent achieving grades A* - C profiles.
These results mean that students will now be spending the next few days with staff at the college confirming their places at university, including one successful candidate who plans to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University.
One hundred per cent pass rates at grades A*-C were achieved in Physics, Further Maths and Film Studies.
Among those celebrating this morning was Cherelle Cawthorn, 18, from Kettering, who is mulling whether to study journalism or English at De Montfort University after achieveing three Bs in media, English literature and sociology.
She said: “I wasn’t feeling nervous about my results until today and I was pleased with what I got.
“I’ve spoken to my parents and they told me they knew I could do it.”
Ben Lloyd, 21, from Irthlingborough, will be going to Portsmouth University to study maths after receiving Bs in maths and furhter maths and a C in business.
He said: “I worked for a few years but I really wanted to continue my education so I’m really happy to be going to university.
“I told my family and they were jumping round the house so everyone’s really pleased.”

This year we have seen many examples of young people achieving their best and being able to progress to the university of their choice through their commitment to succeed and the support of some fantastic tutors and the Learning Resources Team.”

Tresham College of Further and Higher Education is still enrolling for the 6a Sixth Form Centre and for degree level courses starting in September including HND in Business, HND in Photography and HND in Engineering.
