KIER Group, the parent company of Rushden-based contractor Kier Construction, has received a prestigious award.
It has achieved Gold in Business in the Community’s 2012 Corporate Responsibility Index, the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility.
Achieving Gold means Kier is able to demonstrate openness and transparency through effective public reporting of its material environmental and social issues, programmes and performance.
Kier Group chief executive Paul Sheffield said: “I am delighted Kier has achieved Gold. In 2010 we set a target to achieve 90 per cent – Gold – in three years, but the efforts of our staff have led us to attain this in 2012 – a year ahead of our goal.
“I am very proud of this achievement, which is testament to our commitment to integrate responsible business practices across our operations.”
