An award-winning tearoom is to feature different bakers to showcase other success stories from around the county.
After being named Best Independent Tearoom in Northamptonshire at the Carlsberg Food and Drink Awards in October, Ria’s Rosy Lee Tearoom in Wellingborough has decided to use its success to support others.
Ria Chambers from the Cambridge Street tearoom said: “Since the award we have received a lot of attention in local and national media as well as increased interest from the public.
“I have always believed local independent buinesses should support and assist each other and, having met several at the food and drink awards ceremony, I thought that I could shine some of the spotlight I have been receiving onto them to contribute to their growth.”
There will be a different baker each month who will provide a cake each week, giving tearoom customers the chance to sample delights from around the county.
Replete Flatbreads was the first baker in December, and its feature product proved so successful that it sold out in one day.
This month is The Happy Little Baker from Northampton, another finalist from the awards who specialises in gluten free cakes.
