Flower lovers are in for a treat when a village hosts its annual flower festival.
The 2013 Gretton Flower Festival will be held over the weekend of June 28-30 at St James Church and on the village green.
The church will be open from 2pm to 5pm on Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be events on the green from midday on Saturday and Sunday, including stalls selling homemade cakes, books and Fairtrade goods. There will also be a children’s petting zoo, face painting and various other activities.
Miss Gretton and Corby Carnival Queen and Court will be in attendance.
To keep hunger at bay there will be a hog roast, a real ale bar and lunches and cream teas will be served in the Old School House from midday.
Gretton Silver Band will play from 2pm on Sunday and the event ends with a joint Benefice Thanksgiving Service at 6.30pm on Sunday in the church.
