40 chickens killed in attack at Wellingborough allotment

Police are appealing for witnesses to the killing of 40 chickens in a Wellingborough allotment.

The victim arrived at his allotment on the morning of 10 January to find that around 40 chickens had been killed, as well as a turkey.

A goose had also has its wings broken and had to be put down.

The incident occurred between 3.00pm on Wednesday January 9 and 11.00am on Thursday January 10 at Ladywell Allotments, Finedon Road, Wellingborough.

The killing has not been reported to the RSPCA, however a spokesman for the charity said: “This sounds like a very cruel and heartless incident regarding the killing of defenceless animals.

“We would urge anyone with information to contact the police immediately as they are investigating this.”
