Patients are set to benefit following completion of a £355,000 extension at a Kettering medical centre.

The Linden Medical Centre in Linden Avenue, Kettering, has just had a major extension carried out by construction specialist Stepnell.

The scheme has enlarged the premises and delivered a more modern environment for everyone who uses the building

The £355,000 scheme for Jelmac (Primary Care) Properties Ltd involved the creation of a two-storey extension housing two consulting rooms and two offices and the provision of new premises in the building for the Co-op Pharmacy.

This had previously been located in Stamford Road, Kettering, and the pharmacy had been operating from a portable building at the Linden Medical Centre while the construction work was carried out.

The scheme also included internal refurbishment and reconfiguration of the centre’s existing building space to provide a further three consulting rooms, as well as the creation of an entrance lobby and alterations to the car park.

Stepnell construction director Bill Haynes said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Jelmac and the practice to extend and refurbish the Linden Medical Centre.

“The scheme has enlarged the premises and delivered a more modern environment for everyone who uses the building, creating improved facilities including the new on-site pharmacy, which will be of significant benefit to patients.”
