A boarded-up former pub built in the 1880s will be demolished to make way for 26 new social housing flats.
Wellingborough Homes will build the new homes on the site of the Dun Cow pub in Gold Street, Wellingborough.
Wellingborough Council’s planning committee approved plans for the new development, and to demolish the existing former public house and outbuildings at a meeting on Wednesday, February 27.
The planned new residential development will include 26 apartments and car parking.
Cllr Andrew Scarborough said: “It will provide much needed housing.”
Cllr Tim Maguire said: “It will be nice to have flats for people who need them in the town.”
Cllr Paul Bell said: “The would provide much needed social housing in this borough.”
