A team of drivers have more than doubled their fundraising target with a 2,500-mile trip across Europe.
The Niamh’s Next Step Into Europe team wanted to raise £10,000 for the charity set up in memory of Niamh Curry from Wellingborough, who lost her 18-month battle against childhood cancer neuroblastoma in May 2012 aged five.
They spent four days driving through eight countries in cars bought for £500 or less and returned triumphantly to Wellingborough earlier this month.
Since returning from the continent, they have smashed their fundaising target and more than doubled the amount they wanted to raise to £20,000.
Event organiser Carl Baldry posted on Facebook when they passed the £20,000 mark, thanking everyone who took part, donated and supported the team.
