Visiting children will hunt for toys knitted by residents when a sheltered housing complex holds a spring fair.

Members of Sunley Court’s knitting group have made lambs, rabbits, hedgehogs and other spring-themed toys for children to find when families visit from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday.

Gill Crosswell, activities co-ordinator for the flats in Pipers Hill Road, Kettering, said: “The children love coming here.

“It’s a really nice atmosphere.”

More than 100 visitors are expected for the fair, which Mrs Crosswell organised after a successful Wicksteed Park-themed fun day in August.

The flats provide assisted living for 44 residents funded by charity Extra Care.

Mrs Crosswell said: “The residents enjoy it because they see new faces.”
