Two volunteers have been thanked for helping to transform a primary school garden.

Len Steventon and Joe Minard from Down 2 Earth worked for free to transform the front garden at Isham School.

Donations of materials were also given by local companies, including Welland Valley Turf of Isham, Kettering Council, Midland Pallets, Court Masters and the Lilacs pub in Isham.

Chris Bean gave membrane and use of a rotavator.

Bonham Lilly gave various materials and Tony Mayes, of Isham, made some bird boxes.

Sally Wicklow, of Isham, was asked to coordinate the donations.

She managed to turn the project around in one week.

She said: “It will give the children somewhere to plant seeds and flowers and spend some quiet time in the garden area.”
