RETIRED men over the age of 55 are invited to a gentle afternoon of chat and good company with Kettering Pensioners’ Parliament.
The group meets every Thursday and offers people a chance to socialise with like-minded local men.
Every week there is a guest speaker talking about a range of different subjects and there is also an annual luncheon and outing.
On Thursday the talk was about Kettering’s old buildings including the electric power station, and next Thursday Nigel Stokes will visit to give his views on having fun with a metal detector.
The group was formed in 1935 and is non-political.
New members are always welcome to join the meetings at 2.45pm on Thursdays between October and April at the Midland Band Club in Hallwood Road, Kettering.
The club is on bus route D from the town centre.
For more information about joining the club call the secretary on 01536 392600.
