A £50,000 club revamp is under way and work is expected to be finished by the end of the month.

Corby Trades and Labour Club in Stuart Road celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion it is being given a smart new look.

The make-over is being paid for by £50,000 from WREN, which awards grants for community, heritage and conservation projects.

The money is being used to refurbish the club’s main hall and the upstairs lounge and provide a new stage.

Corby author and playwright Paula Boulton, who is the project manager, said: “The work is going well and we’re on target to finish by the end of the month. I’d like to thank the club users for their patience and the construction team for all their hard work.”
