Crispy cakes, scones and flapjacks were among the delights being sold by children at a cake sale in Kettering.
The pupils of St Edward’s School, in Eastleigh Road, took a day out of their weekend to sell their home-made cakes at the Newlands Shopping Centre on Saturday.
The team raised £380 for building costs at the school.
These include a new reception, lighting and security fencing around the 216-pupil school.
Foundation governor Maxine Smith said: “We usually hold the sale at the school but this time decided to target the wider community.
“With help from the centre we were able to set it up and I’m pleased to say it went very well.
“The cakes were delicious and raised a good amount of money for the school.”
