A big hearted 10-year-old has helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity by taking part in a 25km cycle.
Owen Cordwell, from Wellingborough, came up with the idea for the ride around Pitsford and Brixworth Country Park himself. Alongside dad Mick, Owen completed the ride in two hours.
He was raising money for the Anna Kennedy Online, a helpline for parents of children with Asperger’s syndrome and autism. Owen, who goes to school in Northampton, has been diagnosed with Asperger’s, and the family wants to show the charity their gratitude.
“I felt happy (to have done it) but my legs are aching,” said Owen, who has already raised around £650.
And the youngster said he was already looking forward to another fundraiser next year – in which he plans to cycle 50 km.
“He’s very enthusiastic about it,” mum Vicky said. “He did a really good job.”
