A 41-year-old man who was arrested in relation to a burglary at Wellingborough mosque on Saturday has been released from custody.

A police spokesman said the man would face no further action.

The man was arrested over the weekend following a burglary at Wellingborough mosque on Saturday, January 18.

The incident happened between 7pm and 7.30pm when a man broke into the mosque.

Once inside, the man was disturbed by someone and made off without stealing anything.

Northamptonshire Police carried out increased patrols and door-to-door enquiries in the area following the incident.

The man who was arrested has been released with no further action.
