Corby Council urging residents to register to vote as part of national drive
On Thursday, May 5, 2016, voters across Northamptonshire will go to the polls to elect a police and crime commissioner for the area.
Anyone not registered to vote won’t be able to take part and have their say, with the deadline to register to vote in these elections being Monday, April 18.

Young people are historically less likely to be registered to vote than those in other age groups.
Research conducted by the electoral commission has indicated that about 30 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds are not registered to vote, compared to less than five per cent of those aged over 65.
Chief executive and electoral registration officer for Corby Council Norman Stronach said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible so they can have their say on issues that affect their day-to-day lives.
